We had another milestone at this website. Today I went into the ALR189.com shop to do a little wrench turning, and when I went to work on our links page my eye caught a glimpse of the Site Stats that put a big smile on my face. We broke our previous record of 180+ page views in one day that we had during the peak riding season this year. The Stats for yesterday Wednesday December 28, 2011 was ” Pageviews: 346.” For this month we are at 1,940 and counting, and for this year we are at 11,053 and counting. Below is a screenshot of the Site Stats that I saw.
After all the countless hours that I spent building and maintaing ALR189.com this news and the compliments that I receive make it worth it.
So I would like to thank the ALR189 members, all the local ALR Posts, MCs, RCs, Motorcycle Organizations, Lone Wolf Bikers, and Motorcycle Enthusiasts for their support by visiting, complimenting, and spreading the word about ALR189.com.
Thanks Again

RedKnightsChapter40.com
Our friends of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club Chapter 40 New York have something to be proud of. Their website RedKnightsChapter40.com has ranked second on Google searches for “red knights”, “red knights motorcycle club”, “firefighter motorcycle clubs”, and “motorcycle clubs for firefighters” from the Sidney, NY location. Only the Red Knights International Motorcycle Club website ranked higher. RedKnightsChapter40.com ranked higher on Google then 74 state chapter Red Knights Motorcycle Club websites plus a whole bunch of other firefighter motorcycle clubs websites.
And from the locations of New York, NY, Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA the Google search “red knights motorcycle club” again ranked RedKnightsChapter40.com second with only the Red Knights International Motorcycle Club website ranked higher.
Congratulations to the members of Red Knights Motorcycle Club Chapter 40 New York.

Social Media
I just added a neat social media feature to ALR189.com. I installed a “Share this: icon.” When you hover your mouse over this icon, you will see a drop down menu with the ALR 189 Facebook page, regular Facebook, Twitter, Google +1, Digg, and StumbleUpon icons for sharing social media. You can now share with your friends all the news posts and pages on the ALR189 website. Say you want to share with your friend or the world a news post on a upcoming motorcycle event – just click on one of the icons and share. Plus you can comment or link on any ALR189.com news post or page to these social media sites . In addition you can email a link of a post or page to a friend. Finally you can also print out any news post or page.
After I installed this feature. I clicked on and connected to the American Legion Riders Post 189 Facebook page and posted a comment and link. I clicked on the regular Facebook button and added a link to our website home page on my Facebook wall. You can also link and comment on someone else’s wall. I gave a thumbs up on Google +1 by pressing that button. I gave ALR189 website information and link to StumbelUpon. And finally, I pressed the email icon and emailed an ALR189.com page to Jerry Reyes.
* I temporarily unplugged this feature due to technical issues *

American Legion Riders of Honor Award
At our last American Legion Riders Post 189 meeting in Norwich, NY on December 1st, 2011, our Sergeant at Arms Bill Fowler was awarded with the American Legion Riders of Honor (ALROH) Award. This award is the highest award given to an American Legion Rider. Only a limited number of ALROH nominations are awarded each year. This award shows that the recipient has gone far above and beyond the call of duty for the American Legion Riders organization. By their dedication, drive, and determination they have helped make the American Legion Riders grow and prosper. Our ALR189 President Paul Russo submitted Yankee Bill Fowler for this award last year. Paul Russo chose to submit Bill Fowler for the following reasons.
He is an extraordinary Patriot to our Country and American Legion Riders. Bill Fowler has the passion to serve his country and a vision to carry out the American Legion Rider values and mission. Bill has been through the ups and down’s organizing the RIDERS with Paul Russo. He has stayed focused “with some persuasion” and hung in there for our President and members. Without Bill Fowler`s perseverance, vision and purpose we wouldn’t be were we are today. We have overcome negative perception within the Legion. He was instrumental with our ALR By-Laws at Post l89 and also with our NYS ALR By-laws per NYS Department of New York request. Bill has been instrumental organizing the Landsthul Hospital Care Project, meeting Karen and Brian Grimord and making a difference to our combat veterans. Bill also has given us the Covered Bridge Ride and has spent countless hours doing recon runs.
In addition, President Paul Russo chose Bill for this award based on several factors, His 20 year retirement from the ARMY, his weekend duties in the Militia, his ability to be a gifted organizer and writer, a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist with NYS Department of Labor. raising a family and being a great husband and father and still being able to do what he has accomplished for the American Legion Riders. Bill Fowler is also known to Paul Russo as the behind the scenes guy, does more than you can imagine. Yankee Bill Fowler was presented with the American Legion Riders of Honor Award patches to wear proudly and get the respect and honor to be an elite member of the RIDERS.
Congratulations and Thank You Yankee Bill Fowler.
