Rolling Thunder – A Marine’s Vigil
When I am in a good mood with good people, I can ramble. But when I write, it is usually short to the point. I am not going to ramble, but I am going to give the full story.
I had a good day. After work I went to the gym then home. After something to eat, I checked my email. I wanted to get to work to spend hours doing volunteer work for another website. But I was tired and went to La La Land for 40 winks. I woke up refreshed. Got a cup of coffee, and I was ready to put my nose to the grindstone. So of course I found some distractions. I check my email, and then I went to check my Facebook. The first thing posted at the top caught my attention. I read these amazing words. A lot of people re post stuff and put up quotes of famous people. But this special lady wrote these words. Only at the bottom did she referenced one word from a famous person.
She wrote the words below talking about Rolling Thunder and posted an extremely touching video entitled “Rolling Thunder – A Marine’s Vigil.” This special lady is Sarah Poss. After I read her Facebook post I watched the video. I click on a lot of videos, and about half of them I don’t even get to the half way point and click stop. I guarantee you, you will want to watch this video to the end – it is short, less than three minutes. Any other time I would of shed tears, but after reading Sarah words and watching this Marine in this video with these Bikers I was in a state of wonderment.
So below is her words. Then there is a screenshot of what I saw that started this episode. I wasn’t planning on putting up a screenshot, but when I backed up the video so that I can list the credits for this video, I decided to add it. After you read her words and see the video. Please read the last section on Sarah Poss.
Thank You
JB

“Rolling Thunder is one of the greatest annual tribute events for all missing and deceased veterans of all wars. If humankind would remember, that this paradise we call earth belongs to no one governing group or person and was given so that all living beings in it would have all they need and coexist peacefully, there would be no need for a memorial ride to the wall. It would be a joyous ride for peace. Imagine (Remember John Lennon)”

Sarah Poss
I remember seeing Sarah years ago. It was a Sunday morning around 11:00am. It was a nice sunny day , and I had just ridden to the world famous Rockdale Hotel LOL to meet these bikers of the American Spirit MC Tri County Chapter for the first time. I went up to the porch where they were hanging out, introduce myself then went over to the side, and as many cases before with new groups of people. I just stood there not knowing what to say or do and feeling a little out of place. Sarah came over and hugged me – I felt welcomed!
Years forward. I recently saw Sarah and husband Roy E. Poss “Eric” at the food store. Sarah has recently had massive heart surgery. She walked into the store oxygen tank in tow and headed over to the electric wheel chair -she was ready for shopping. I am sure she could have asked Eric to pick up the food but she is such a trooper. So I gave her a hug and she and Eric were off shopping.
Besides working, taking care of a family, Sarah has worked tirelessly over the years for The Ice Cream Run. The Ice Cream Run raises money for seriously ill children from the local area.
* Please say a prayer for Sarah to have a speedy recovery. *

Well, three plus hours later and I am getting ready to hit the publish button. I hope I don’t have any typos, and it reads good. Another half hour of proof reading, mentioning this on the ALR189 Facebook and emailing my ALR189 friends and I will be done.
I am tired and coffeed out. I am not scheduled to work tomorrow, but I have a 9:00am appointment which I will most likely blow off. But it was worth it.
I will sleep good.
End of story.

Warrior Brotherhood MC
ALR189 member Jerry Reyes told me about the Warrior Brotherhood MC. After I looked at their national website. I decided to drop them a line to mention something about their site, and to ask if their are any local chapters in our area. Below is a link and screenshot of their website. I will add a link in our Links page. I will also probably add some more national military MC links like the Leathernecks MC and the Nam Knights MC. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Motorcycle Run
If we gave away an early bird prize for the first motorcycle event submission to ALR189.com, our friends of the American Legion Riders Post 1194 in Hillcrest would receive the prize. Road Captain Steve “Condor” Petrylak sent in their flyer for their 4th Annual Poker Run to Stop Hunger on July 21st. This poster will be added to our events page. Below is their flyer and a link to CHOW.

Pageviews
We had another milestone at this website. Today I went into the ALR189.com shop to do a little wrench turning, and when I went to work on our links page my eye caught a glimpse of the Site Stats that put a big smile on my face. We broke our previous record of 180+ page views in one day that we had during the peak riding season this year. The Stats for yesterday Wednesday December 28, 2011 was ” Pageviews: 346.” For this month we are at 1,940 and counting, and for this year we are at 11,053 and counting. Below is a screenshot of the Site Stats that I saw.
After all the countless hours that I spent building and maintaing ALR189.com this news and the compliments that I receive make it worth it.
So I would like to thank the ALR189 members, all the local ALR Posts, MCs, RCs, Motorcycle Organizations, Lone Wolf Bikers, and Motorcycle Enthusiasts for their support by visiting, complimenting, and spreading the word about ALR189.com.
Thanks Again

RedKnightsChapter40.com
Our friends of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club Chapter 40 New York have something to be proud of. Their website RedKnightsChapter40.com has ranked second on Google searches for “red knights”, “red knights motorcycle club”, “firefighter motorcycle clubs”, and “motorcycle clubs for firefighters” from the Sidney, NY location. Only the Red Knights International Motorcycle Club website ranked higher. RedKnightsChapter40.com ranked higher on Google then 74 state chapter Red Knights Motorcycle Club websites plus a whole bunch of other firefighter motorcycle clubs websites.
And from the locations of New York, NY, Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA the Google search “red knights motorcycle club” again ranked RedKnightsChapter40.com second with only the Red Knights International Motorcycle Club website ranked higher.
Congratulations to the members of Red Knights Motorcycle Club Chapter 40 New York.
